Shows & Exhibitions
Each year we like to take some of the animals to shows and exhibitions around Canada. It has been a wonderful experience so far and we are looking forward to our participation in future shows. You can find us with our animals surrounded with our trademark blue at shows throughout the spring, summer and fall of each year. This year, 2007, we were able to get pictures to show you a day in the life of our lowlines going to the fair while visiting the Vancouver Island Exhibition. The stars of the slide show are Genie, 3 1/2 year old cow and her bull calf of 3 1/2 months, Aladdin. Enjoy the slide show!!
We presented our cattle at their first national show, Farmfair International, Canada's Premier Livestock Showcase in 2007. We had a wonderful time, met some excellent people and loved the shmoozing with all the presenters and breeders. While there, our bull, Studley became a prize bull you could say. Studley was awarded Reserve Champion Senior Bull as well as Reserve Grand Champion Breed Bull. We are truly honored to have been recognized and acknowledged in this way. Below please find the wonderful picture provided by Grant Rolston as well as a close up of the banners and ribbons.

Each show give us an opportunity to introduce our bulls or females with their newborns. We strive to provide the public with variety so that they can see the versatility and ease of raising these cattle. Other shows we have attended are listed below with some information about them, names also link you to their own sites or sites which will give you further information. We hope to see you out next year at one of our shows or exhibitions.
Rock CreekRock Creek 2007
Rock Creek's 300+ residents, and its
neighbouring community of Kettle Valley, today are a strong group of individuals who participate readily in all aspects of community work, recreation activities and environmental issues. The community bulletin board at the post office passes along news and events to the spread-out population. The Major events are the Annual Rock Creek & District Fall Fair, held in September. The best little Country Fair in BC, and the Sky High Blues Fest held on the long weekend in August. Silverhills has shown their cattle at Rock Creek for 10 years running, participating in the breed competitions for the past 6 years. We have placed well during our time there which included 1st Place Breeder's Herd in the All Breeds Competition our second year in competition. We will continue this tradition every September for as long as we can as it is truly an event not to be missed.

Located in Armstrong BC the IPE celebrated it's 106th anniversary in 2004. Silverhills has participated in this exhibition for 9 years and in competition this year, 2007.
Vancouver Island Exhibition
The Fair originally started over 100 years ago and continues now as an annual event to advance the education of agriculture and showcase local farmers and 4-H clubs, bringing agricultural awareness to our community. As farming changes and land becomes more urban, we need to keep our farms alive, to provide top quality products and to encourage the education of the past, present, and future of all areas of agriculture. Silverhills has displayed their cattle at the VIEX every year in mid August for the past 11 years and look forward to many more years of attendance.
